While facing criminal charges, Pedro must grapple with his sister’s sudden decision to move away and leave him behind. Alone in the darkness of his bedroom, he dances covered in neon paint, while thousands of strangers watch him via webcam.

HARD PAINT is the second feature film by Matzembacher and Reolon. Developed through the Dutch fund Hubert Bals, it was produced with national Brazilian funding. In a successful premiere at the Berlin Festival at the Panorama show, HARD PAINT was awarded Best Film - Teddy Award and Best Film - C.I.C.A.E., in addition to an exceptional reception by the audience and critics.

The film was commercially released in dozens of countries, screened in more than one hundred festivals and won more than 35 awards at important events such as Rio Film Festival (Best Film, Screenplay, Actor and Supporting Actor), Chicago, Athens, Sidney, Guadalajara, among others. HARD PAINT was featured in several lists of best films of the year and best of the decade.
